Central Credit Control was founded in 1955 and for many years was located at 208 North Street in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In its formative years Central Credit Control was lead under the steady guidance of Chief Executive Officer, Donald C. Donagher Jr. whose vision it was to build a strong and vibrant company over time that would become part of the fabric of the greater Harrisburg area.
As a result of its steady growth and desire to diversify its service base, in 1987 Central Credit Control merged to form what is now Penn Credit. With its continued success, in the spring of 1994 Penn Credit had a major business decision to make. It could either move to a new location in a suburb of Harrisburg and greatly reduce its property and other local tax obligations, or stay in Harrisburg which was financially distressed and contribute to the economic development and other employment initiatives that were part of the focused efforts of a community that although financially distressed was emerging and shaping a new identity. Ultimately the decision was made to make a major commitment to the City by locating its new corporate headquarters to its present location at 916 S 14th Street. This 16,000+ square foot facility is equipped with the latest computer and telecommunications technology that is constantly upgraded to improve Penn Credit’s collection processes and operating efficiency. It also provides specialized departmental and collection representative workspace needed to fully meet the varying needs and requirements of Penn Credit’s diverse client base.
Since its humble beginnings in 1955 Penn Credit has held true to the principles of its success and has grown to become one of the top 20 collection agencies in the United States.
